Echo Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026

Echo is a notes app made by Randula Wickramasuriya. This policy explains how Echo handles your information.

Your notes stay on your device

Everything you create in Echo, including text, checklists, photos and videos, is stored only on your device, inside Echo. Echo has no servers and no accounts, and it doesn't send your notes anywhere.

We don't collect data

Echo doesn't collect, store, or share any personal information. There are no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.

Camera, microphone and photos

If you choose to, Echo can use your camera to take photos and videos, and the microphone to record sound with videos. You can change these permissions at any time in the Settings app.

To add existing photos and videos, Echo uses the system photo picker: Echo can't see your photo library, only the items you pick. Everything you add is only used in your notes and stays on your device.

Sharing

When you share a note, you choose where it goes using the standard iOS share sheet. What happens next is handled by the app you share to.

Backups

Your device may include Echo's notes in its own backups (such as iCloud Backup or a computer backup), depending on your device settings. Those backups are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

Deleting your data

Deleting a note moves it to the Trash for 30 days, after which it's removed. Deleting Echo removes all of its notes from your device.

Children

Echo doesn't collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
